Esler Family Foundation was established in 2019 by John and Jeanne Esler, who are passionate about giving while they’re living, to address some of the most pressing needs of our time – mental health, youth opportunity, and economic mobility.

They establish long-term, trust-based partnerships with local, national, and international organizations in communities worldwide. They hope to reduce administrative burden and funding restrictions, trusting nonprofits as experts in their communities.

They believe this approach, coupled with upstream approaches to these needs, leads to transformational impact. John and Jeanne seek out programs and projects that address root causes of problems rather than just treat symptoms, aiming for long-term solutions and improved outcomes to change lives.

The Eslers often utilize “first in” funding and matching grants to inspire and encourage generous giving in others. They aim to create urgency and excitement around a project, making it easier to attract other donors and multiply impact by unlocking additional funding.
