Esler Family Foundation was established in 2019 by John and Jeanne Esler, who are passionate about giving while they’re living, to address some of the most pressing needs of our time – mental health, youth opportunity, and economic mobility.

At Esler Family Foundation, we equip changemakers, building long-term, trust-based partnerships with local, national, and international organizations in communities worldwide. We aim to reduce administrative burden and funding restrictions, trusting nonprofits as experts in their communities.

We believe this approach, coupled with upstream approaches to these needs, leads to transformational impact. Our Foundation seeks out programs, projects, and collaborative initiatives that address root causes of problems rather than just treat symptoms, aiming for systemic change leading to long-term solutions and improved outcomes to truly impact people’s lives.

We often utilize “first in” funding and matching grants to inspire and encourage generous giving in others, serving as a catalyst and aiming to create urgency and excitement around a project. We hope to make it easier for partners to attract other donors and multiply impact by leveraging our funding to unlock additional investment and build communities of support.
